For you to find out what we are up to … when we don't call :)

2012 started with a BANG!

Call me Emril Lagasse because I got the BANG on lockdown! Wedding plans are continuing to move very smoothly :) We got an officiant, we have a decorator, we  even have flowers and centre peices lol Stewart and I still have our sanity, or whatever we had to begin with ;P What is even better is that I got a big girl job :) I am moving on up in the world lol

If it keeps going the way it is going, I just might die of happiness! I hope you all are feeling as blessed as we are! Save the date photos to be taken this weekend eeek!

Oh no I did it…

It’s no secret I have stomach problems, but I champion through because I LOVE FOOD! I love eating food, looking at food, watching people cook food — ALL of it. But, I also love life and I want to keep loving it and doing everything that I can to enjoy it, and if that means getting rid of some food allergies? Well … I think that is a fair trade. So I have embarked on a gluten-free, dairy-free, egg-free diet. I started on January 1st and am on my 7th day… and I am still as hungry as ever. I won’t lie to you, the gluten that you are so used to eating, that fills you up and satisfies you, well I still want it. Luckily with my Asian diet, it allows for a lot of grains, and you all know how much I love my rice :) Whoever told you its not a struggle it is!

Some meals we have been having, well rather, I have been having because Stewart still eats everything he damn well pleases :/ bitter much? Well yah haha

Salmon encrusted with MTL steak seasoning over a bed of salad with a lemon vinegarette

Risotto with panchetta and zuchinni topped with fresh shavings of parmesean. (Stewart ate this and said it was delicious).

While making the risotto all I was picturing was my friend Latasha doing impersonations of Giada from Everyday Italian (sorry inside joke) haha. If you have any recipes or breakfast shakes to share, please share in the comments :) I am trying to eat breakfast these days and find that shakes are the easiest and quickest to consume.

*PS sorry for the crappy photos — taken with my Iphone 4*

Happy New Year

Dear friends and family,

Stewart and I want to wish you all a very Happy New Year. I hope everyone takes the time to see all that they have accomplished in the year and be proud of themselves. Each year is a stepping stone in life, and through the good and bad we all need to keep grounded and continue to keep living because friends, life is worth living. Here’s to a great 2012!

Wedding planning

“Sometimes I wonder if you really are getting married. Everything is either done or is too easy for you”

Work wife Madison Leigh M.

Maly’s Tips for easy peesy wedding planning

  1. Surround yourself with a great group of supports in parents and friends
  2. Don’t make it all about money … a wedding is a day to share your love with your loved ones.
  3. Be realistic
  4. Stick to your personality. Don’t let others influence what you want to see.
  5. Love your man in the midst of all of this :) He needs attention too
  6. Make checklists. It sure feels triumphant to check things off of your to-do list ;)
  7. Book and create fantastic relationships with your vendors — We love our people!
  8. Remember it isn’t always about YOUR wedding. Have a life outside of planning the shindig

Book completed!

While Stewart and I were in Cambodia, we became really good friends with our neighbour and continue to stay in touch. He is an artist and author and has just completed his first book: Salsa Invertebraxa. Stewart and I received our first signed copy a couple of weeks ago and the art is just AMAZING!! Please check it out –> http://www.behance.net/gallery/Salsa-Invertebraxa-Part-III/2578881. If you are interested in ordering a copy, the link is at the bottom.
